Inner Happiness
We all want to feel happy as much of the time as possible. We may give up on finding it, or at times of great loss we may actually lose it, but happiness is an important emotion. When we are happy, we are also at peace and we feel content, even joyful. This is where we should try to live most of the time.
We often tend to look to the outside world to find happiness. We view things like our relationships, financial security, our home, expensive toys, and comforts as giving us the happiness we need. The good feelings from many of these things do not always last and we can find ourselves continually looking for more of the same.
Another way of finding happiness comes from within ourselves. Inner happiness can be tapped into at any time and is easily attainable. Inner happiness gives us the same great feelings of peace and contentment. Obtaining inner happiness can be done through meditation. Meditation has been practiced for thousands of years. Regular, daily meditation can help us develop inner happiness and keep it. Meditation provides us the tools to watch our minds and see how we react to situations and to those around us. Practicing meditation allows us to relax, making it easier to choose options that open us up to our own inner happiness.
