Watch Your Mind

Look and understand your mental reactions and the stories you make of your thoughts, emotions, and sensations. Give these some attention throughout the day and see if they are helpful or not helpful. Look at the different options that are available and choose those that may allow you to grow in comfort, pleasure, and overall happiness.

We need to see ourselves for who we are in a non-judgmental viewpoint and see the issues that are not needed nor helpful and just let them go. Use our past difficulties for learning to do what is helpful without giving our past problems more energy. If we can see that there is nothing we can do about mental stories and mental activities and just let them go, that will save us much heart ache and problems.

Holding onto issues that are in the past or worrying about situations, events, or interactions in the future can cause pain, frustration, and stress. Seeing them as past or future mental activities and deciding whether they are helpful or not helpful, and letting go of what is not helpful, can save us a ton of grief.
