Breath Improvement Practice – Relax and Breathe Deep

We have all heard the saying “take three deep breaths to feel better.” If we would actually do this several times a day, we would be more relaxed. Try to be conscious of those short periods during the day where you are between tasks. Take advantage of those moments by taking 3 deep breaths.

When you find yourself in a stressed state, take 3 or more deep breaths and purposefully try and lengthen, slow, and quiet each breath. Deepening the breath helps to activate the relaxed mode. Focusing on your breath puts you in the present moment, and lets you take a short break from the stress of the day.
