Know your mind

Know what your mind, body, emotions, and moods are up to. Are you happy or sad, angry or peaceful, calm or nervous, fearful or safe, sick or healthy, focused or distracted? Know what thoughts and mental stories are moving through your mind. Know what sensations are happening with your body such as aches and pains, relaxed sensations, or tension. If you can be aware, it is easier to let go of what is unhelpful and not needed.
