Happiness Through Meditation
Meditation helps us let go of the active mind, relax on demand, and deepen the feeling of peace, happiness, and contentment. Meditation also gives us the tools to watch and understand what our mind, emotions, and body are up to, providing us the opportunity to make choices to our mental reactions.
When unhelpful states come upon you, learn to know when this is happening. Moods and emotions like worry, fear, anger, frustration, helplessness, loneliness, and guilt are needed for quick information but if you hold onto them, it becomes an unhelpful state.
Unhelpful states can be let go. They might come back, but each time we see them and see that they are not needed we can just let them go. The more times you do this the weaker they become.
Unhelpful states are okay to have. We are not bad to have them, we just need to see them and say hello old friend, I see you and there is the door, I give you permission to leave. If they will not leave, they can stay, but we can learn to see that they are not needed.
